This block consists of a retractable wire rope lifeline that is stored on a spool in a protective sleeve. The winch is spring-based to retract the retractable lifeline and includes an inertial brake mechanism that allows the lifeline to slowly retract and retract automatically to accommodate the user's body movements. It also includes a rotating carabiner with a double safety lock and a fall indicator.
